This method is for quantifying trace metals in LPG samples using ICP-MS. The method quantifies aluminum (Al), antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), barium (Ba), beryllium (Be), boron (B), cadmium (Cd), calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), lead (Pb), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), phosphorus (P) potassium (K), sodium (Na), strontium (Sr), tin (Sn), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), zinc (Zn), and zirconium (Zr). The metals are trapped after bubbling the LPG through the solution and letting any liquid sample evaporate then analyzed. This method analyzes metals that are soluble in the LPG as a liquid, gas, or dissolved solid. Additionally, metals in particulates that are soluble in the acid solution will be analyzed by this method. The limits of quantitation for this method are shown in Table 1.
