This method permits the evaluation of the influence of combustion soot on engine oil performance at medium temperatures using the PSA XUD11 BTE engine.
The evaluations are based on the cleanliness of the pistons, the amount of sludge, increase in viscosity and the level of wear metals in the used oil.
