This Recommendation describes the physical plane of the general IN architecture. The physical plane identifies different physical entities (PEs), the allocation of functional entities to PEs, and the interfaces between the PEs. Companion Recommendations include the Q.120x- and Q.121x-Series Recommendations, especially Recommendation Q.1215 which describes the physical plane for IN capability set 1.
